Graphic Utilities Announces Partnership with Ink Solution of Florida
    January 1, 2003

Graphic Utilities, a Saunders Company, has been designing, manufacturing and distributing inkjet inks in the United States and Europe for nearly 17 years, and more recently entered the Middle East and the Pacific Rim markets. Graphic Utilities' latest expansion effort is a partnership with Ink Solution of Florida.

Ink Solution of Florida, a subsidiary of Paraí Brazil, will act as exclusive distributor of desktop inkjet inks for Graphic Utilities in South America. The company was established a year and a half ago to act as a jumping off point between North and South America.

Ink Solution of Florida markets and distributes complete refilling solutions designed by Paraí. Product offerings include the Ink 3000 series filling machines, testers, tapes, clips, labels and Graphic Utilities inks. Paraí has similar offerings in South America.

"Ink Solution of Florida and Paraí have an exceptional understanding of the South American market, and remanufacturers' needs in general," said Dana Fuller, product marketing manager for Graphic Utilities. "Its Ink 3000 refilling machines and components are innovative and extremely successful. If you add this to the company's commitment to provide the consumer with no less than OEM quality products, then you have a company that we are proud to be affiliated with."

    March 25, 2004

The international market, for the target that we reach, is much more aggressive than here in the United States. We sell equipment for retail operations, which is a very small market in the United States. We have sold to more than 42 countries. – Lou Pedrosa, Ink Solution of Florida

Parai Setting Up Distribution of Ink 3000 Recycling Machine in the United States
    June 1, 2002

MIAMI - Parai, a Brazilian company that has created an inkjet recycling machine using vacuum technology instead of the injection method, is no offering its INK 3000 machine to the American market.

Parai is setting up distribution in the United States for entrepreneurs who want to go into the fast-growing, earth-friendly inkjet cartridge recycling business. The U.S. operation is called Ink Solution.

The INK 3000 machine was invented by Luciano Piquet, an engineer and computer technician from João Pessoa, Brazil. Piquet is also director-president of Parai.

The INK 3000 is already sold throughout South America and Europe. It comes in three versions: INK 3000 Black, which only recycles black cartridges; INK 3000 Color, which recycles color cartridges; and INK 3000 Plus, which does both.
The INK 3000 machines use vacuum pressure to refill inkjet cartridges for printers from makers such as HP, Epson, Canon and Lexmark. The vacuum method results in pressurization identical to the original cartridge and prevents bubbles.

'The cartridge gets refilled in two minutes with a 100 percent guarantee that it won't ever spill ink. Other machines still use the injection process, and that can really cause problems,' Piquet said.

Another benefit is that consumers get twice as much ink and pay less than they did for the original cartridge. Cartridges for most printers are released with only 20 milliliters of ink, but INK 3000 can remanufacture them with 40 milliliters.
An additional benefit of the INK 3000 Plus is to the environment, since recycling and reconditioning inkjet cartridges keeps them out of landfills.

The market for reconditioned cartridges has been growing as printer costs drop and new cartridge prices rise. Printer manufacturers are supportive.
'Since we don't agree with monopolist attitudes, we try to live in harmony with the non-original cartridges,' said a representative of Hewlett-Packard Brazil in a statement.

INK 3000 has received the Technological Innovation 2000/NE award from the Brazilian government. The program was created to encourage technology innovations that generate positive results for Brazilian society.
